Project Overview

This large-scale new build project involved the complete construction of a high-quality, L-shaped stable block from the ground up. The objective was to manage every stage of the build, from initial groundworks to the final roof and cladding, to deliver a robust, functional, and aesthetically pleasing stable.

Before: The project began with a cleared, empty plot of land. The site was marked out, but there were no existing structures. This provided a complete blank canvas for our team to work from, requiring precise planning and execution from the very first day.

After: The result is a high-quality stable block that is both practical and visually impressive. Built to the highest standards, the structure is solid, weatherproof, and perfectly suited to its purpose.

The Process

Groundworks & Foundations
- The first step was to dig and pour deep concrete strip foundations to provide a solid base for the structure. A brick and block plinth was then constructed up to the damp-proof course level.
Timber Frame Erection
- A custom-made timber frame was erected on the foundations. This framework forms the main structure of the walls, including all openings for doors and windows. The frame was then wrapped in a breathable membrane for weather protection.
Roof Structure Construction
- Prefabricated roof trusses were delivered to the site and expertly craned into position. The team then secured the trusses and completed the full roof structure, ready for tiling.
Roofing
- The roof was felted, battened, and then tiled with high-quality slates to create a durable, weatherproof, and attractive finish that complements the rural setting.
External Cladding
- The final stage of the main build was the installation of the external timber cladding. Each board was carefully cut and fixed to the timber frame, giving the stable block its classic appearance.
Finishing Touches
- The project included the installation of custom windows and stable doors, along with all necessary drainage and external groundworks to ensure the site was left clean, tidy, and ready for use.

This new build project demonstrates our capability to manage complex construction from start to finish.
